No frets.
Just your ear.

A violin has no frets: exactly where your finger lands decides the note. Press a string and hold it down. The bow plays by itself. The tuner shows you how close you are. Can you play “Ode to Joy”?

Lessons in detail

How your violin lessons work.

The first lessons

How to hold the violin and bow, straight bow strokes on the open strings G, D, A and E, and then your first notes with your fingers. Before long, you'll be playing little melodies.

Over time

Clean intonation, bowing styles like legato and staccato, shifting positions and vibrato. The repertoire ranges from classical and folk to film music, pop and jazz.

For kids and adults

Violins come in smaller sizes like 1/4 or 1/2, so even children from age 6 can play comfortably. Adults appreciate the calm, focused start and the unmistakable sound.

Practising at home

Many people start with a rental violin that can grow with them. Short, regular practice sessions are the best way to train your ear and intonation.
