A trumpet has only three valves. Your lips do the rest: with the same fingering you can play different notes. Tap the valves and hold a lip step to blow. Can you play “When the Saints”?
Buzzing your lips, embouchure on the mouthpiece and breathing from the belly: your first notes usually come in the very first lesson. Then come the valve fingerings for your first scales and little melodies.

Trumpet lessons at Music Campus München are possible from around age 8, depending on dental development. There's no upper age limit. Many of our students are teenagers and adults who are starting out or coming back after a break.
For regular lessons it makes sense to have your own instrument, so you can practise at home. Our office will tell you whether to bring anything to the trial lesson and which rental instruments may be available. We help you choose and point you to suitable music shops in and around München.
Private lessons start from €110 per month, at 30, 45 or 60 minutes, weekly or by arrangement. If you'd rather not sign a contract, the ME Time prepaid card starts from €36 per lesson (30 minutes). Our office will be happy to give you the details in person. Just call or send us an email.
You arrange a time by phone or email. In the trial lesson you meet your teacher, see the rooms, play your first notes and tell us what you'd like to do musically. The trial lesson is free of obligation and commits you to nothing.
