Flute lessons.

Flute: lessons at Music Campus München

The flute is light, bright and agile: the tone comes from nothing but the breath you direct across the embouchure hole. In flute lessons at Music Campus München you first learn the embouchure and calm breathing, then the fingerings, reading music and your first pieces. That way your first note quickly becomes a melody.

The flute feels at home in many styles: in the orchestra and ensemble, in jazz, Latin music, brass bands and modern music. Children often start with a flute with a curved head joint, adults go straight to the standard instrument. We guide you from your first note to confident playing.

Hold the
note.

Here you play a flute in C. Press a step and hold it: the note sounds as long as you “blow”, with breath and a light vibrato. The longer you hold, the calmer the tone. Glide over the steps for runs. Keyboard: 1 to 8.

Lessons in detail

How your flute lessons work.

The first lessons

First just the head joint: embouchure and breath until a clear tone appears. Then you put the flute together, learn the first fingerings and play little melodies.

Over time

Tone and colour, articulation, scales and the high register, later vibrato. Plus pieces from classical, jazz, Latin and pop, on your own or in an ensemble.

For kids and adults

Children usually start between 6 and 8, often with a curved head joint so the flute sits well in their hands. Adults love how quickly the first melodies work.

Practising at home

Short daily sessions bring the most progress, because breath and embouchure grow with regular training. And the flute is pleasantly quiet for the neighbours.
