The saxophone is one of the most expressive instruments there is. Its sound can be warm and soft, but also powerful, raw and full of energy. In saxophone lessons at Music Campus München, you'll learn step by step how to develop a beautiful tone and express yourself freely through music. Whether soulful ballads or thrilling solos, the saxophone grabs attention instantly and gives any music a special color. In saxophone lessons in München, you'll work on tone production, breathing technique and musical expression.
Saxophone lessons train your ear, your sense of rhythm and your musical confidence, and they're also excellent preparation for band, stage and ensemble playing. Thanks to its versatility, the saxophone fits into many styles such as jazz, pop and contemporary music. In saxophone lessons at Music Campus München, we help beginners and advanced players learn to play the instrument with confidence and develop their own musical style.
Here you play an alto saxophone in E♭. Press a step and hold it: the note sounds as long as you “blow”, with breath and vibrato. The steps show the fingered note; it sounds a major sixth lower. Glide across the steps for runs. Keyboard: 1 to 8.
Embouchure on the mouthpiece, breathing from the belly and your first notes, usually in the very first lesson. Then come the fingerings for your first scales and little melodies.
Tone and timbre, articulation, the instrument's full range, and improvising over jazz standards, pop songs, soul and funk.
Most kids can start from around age 8, depending on dental development, often on the alto saxophone. Adults love how quickly the saxophone starts to sound like real music.
Reeds of the right strength make all the difference, and your teacher will advise you. Short daily breathing and tone exercises help the most.
