Lessons in detail

How your piano lessons work.

The first lessons

You'll learn to find your way around the keyboard, develop a relaxed hand position and posture, and will soon be playing little melodies, first with one hand, then with both. Reading music comes in step by step, always with pieces you enjoy.

Over time

Chords, accompaniment patterns and independent hands turn melodies into real pieces and songs. Depending on your goals, you'll head towards classical, pop accompaniment, jazz harmony, blues or film music. Playing by ear and your first improvisations are part of it too.

For kids and adults

Kids from age 6 learn through play with short, varied exercises. Adults starting out or returning after years set their own goals with their teacher, from a favourite song to the classical repertoire.

Practising at home

To start with, a digital piano with a weighted keyboard is all you need, and you can play it with headphones too. Ten to twenty minutes a day on a regular basis will get you further than one long practice session a week.
