The trombone is an incredibly versatile brass instrument. It ranges from the softest, warmest note to a powerful fortissimo, and with the slide you glide seamlessly from note to note. In trombone lessons at Music Campus München, you'll learn step by step how to develop a full, secure sound.
The trombone is at home almost everywhere: in the symphony orchestra, in big band, in rock and pop horn sections and in church brass choirs. In trombone lessons in München, you'll work on breathing, embouchure and intonation, on rhythm and sound. We help beginners and advanced players learn to play the instrument with confidence and find their own style.
The trombone has no valves but a slide. How far you push it out sets the pitch, seamlessly, just like singing. Press into the field and hold: left and right moves the slide, up and down changes the natural notes with your lips. Can you play the B♭ major scale?
Buzzing your lips, embouchure on the mouthpiece and breathing from the belly: your first notes usually come in the very first lesson. Then you learn the slide positions for your first scales and little melodies.
Intonation with the slide, tone and timbre, articulation, rhythm and a wider range. Plus pieces from classical, jazz and pop, on your own or in a horn section.
Kids can start from age 8. In the trial lesson we'll look together at how well their arms already reach the slide positions. Adults love the warm sound and how well the trombone fits into big bands, orchestras and brass choirs.
Short daily sessions help the most, because the lip muscles grow with regular training. Long notes and lip slurs strengthen your embouchure and intonation, and your teacher will give you the right exercises.
